Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS) – pminternship.mca.gov.in is a flagship internship initiative launched by the Government of India with the objective of providing real-world industry exposure to Indian youth. The scheme aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical corporate experience.

Under the PM Internship Scheme, approximately 1 Crore youth will be offered 12-month paid internship opportunities in the Top 500 reputed companies of India over a period of five years. Selected candidates will gain hands-on experience, professional skills, and industry-recognized certification.

The official PM Internship Portal is currently active and accepting online registrations for the ongoing internship cycle. Eligible candidates are advised to apply online through the official website before the last date.

  • Family Background: Immediate family must not be a Regular Govt Employee.
Internship Duration & Benefits
  • Total Duration: 12 Months of hands-on experience.
  • Experience: At least 6 months of the internship must be in an actual working environment.
  • Insurance Cover: Every intern is covered under **Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana** and **Suraksha Bima Yojana** (funded by Govt).
  • Certificate: Official certificate of completion from the partner industry.
  • Participating Companies: Over 500 top firms including L&T, Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, Tech Mahindra, etc.

Step-by-Step Registration Process:

  1. Visit the official portal at pminternship.mca.gov.in or use the PMIS Mobile App.
  2. Click on "Youth Registration" at the top-right corner.
  3. Enter your mobile number linked to **Aadhaar** and verify via OTP.
  4. Complete **e-KYC** using DigiLocker or Aadhaar details.
  5. Fill in your personal, educational, and bank details (Aadhaar seeded account is mandatory).
  6. Upload necessary certificates (10th/12th/Degree) in PDF format.
  7. The portal will automatically generate your Resume based on your profile.
  8. Select and apply for up to **3 internship preferences** based on your field and location.
