🔍 JHTET Overview
The Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JHTET) is the qualifying examination conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) for aspirants looking for teaching jobs in primary and upper primary levels within the state. As per the 2026 notification, the test is divided into two parts: Paper I for primary level (Class 1-5) and Paper II for junior level (Class 6-8). Successful candidates will receive a lifetime validity certificate, making them eligible for upcoming state teacher recruitment drives. 10+2 Intermediate with 50% marks + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed / B.T.C.) OR 10+2 with 50% + 4-year B.El.Ed OR Graduation with D.El.Ed. (Final year appearing students also eligible).
Junior Level (Class 6-8)
Bachelor's Degree + 2-year D.El.Ed OR Bachelor's/Master's Degree with 50% marks + B.Ed / B.Ed Special Education OR 10+2 with 50% + 4-year B.El.Ed / B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed.
📝 Selection Process & Exam Pattern
Written Exam: The selection is based on an objective-type written test (Offline OMR based).
Structure: Both Paper I and Paper II consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for 150 marks.
Duration: Candidates will get 2 hours and 30 minutes for each paper.
Negative Marking: There is No Negative Marking in JHTET 2026.
Qualifying Percentage: 60% for General/EWS, 55% for Backward Classes, and 52% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

Domicile: Candidates must follow the specific Jharkhand state domicile and reservation criteria to claim fee relaxation.
Appearing Status: Students in the final year of their professional teaching course (B.Ed/D.El.Ed) are eligible to apply.
