National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) – nhrc.nic.in is inviting online applications for its prestigious Short-Term Internship (STI) Program. This initiative is designed to sensitize university students about the Protection of Human Rights and the functional mechanisms of the Commission.

The NHRC Short-Term Internship is a 15-day intensive program offered to students of Law, Social Sciences, and Human Rights streams. It provides a unique platform to engage with policy-making, case studies, and field visits under the guidance of senior constitutional experts.

Program Duration & Scope
  • Duration: 15 Days (Short Term) | 1 Month (Full Term).
  • Work Scope: Drafting research reports on human rights violations, analyzing complaints, and attending seminars by eminent jurists.
  • Field Visits: Interns are often taken for visits to Tihar Jail, Police Stations, or NGOs to understand ground-level human rights enforcement.
  • Final Project: Submission of a research project on a specific human rights issue is mandatory for the certificate.

  3. Click on "Online Internship Application".

  5. Upload a Recommendation Letter (LOR) signed by your HOD or Principal.
