🔍 Exam Overview
The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a mandatory state-level entrance exam for individuals who wish to build a career as a teacher in government-run schools in Uttar Pradesh. Conducted by the newly formed UPESSC, the test consists of two papers: Paper-I for Classes 1 to 5 (Primary Level) and Paper-II for Classes 6 to 8 (Upper Primary Level). 📝 Selection Process & Exam Pattern
- Selection Stages: The selection is based purely on a single-stage Offline Written Examination (OMR Based). There is no interview for UPTET qualification.
- Exam Pattern: Each paper consists of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for 150 marks. The duration is 150 minutes (2.5 hours).
- Negative Marking: There is No Negative Marking in the UPTET exam. Each correct answer carries 1 mark.
- Qualifying Marks: General category candidates must score 60% (90/150), while reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) need 55% (82/150).
📌 Important Guidelines for Students
- OTR Registration: Before filling the form, candidates must complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) on the official UPESSC portal.
- Appearing Candidates: Students in the final year of their D.El.Ed or B.Ed courses are also eligible to apply.
- Aadhar Mandatory: Ensure your Aadhar is linked with your active mobile number for OTP verification during registration.
- Mistake to Avoid: Carefully choose your Language-II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit) as it cannot be changed after final submission.
- Visit the official website: upessc.up.gov.in or updeled.gov.in.
- Complete your One-Time Registration (OTR) to get your login ID.
- Login and click on the link "Apply for UPTET 2026".
- Fill in your academic details and select the papers (Paper 1, Paper 2, or both).
- Upload scanned passport-size photograph and signature in JPG format.
- Pay the examination fee through the integrated SBI e-Pay gateway.
- Review the final preview of your form and click on Submit.
- Download the final application PDF and payment receipt for future reference.
